Our first Trekking Trip
Trekking...What does this word bring to your mind? For me, when I first joined this club it brought me expectations. Expectations of much-awaited future adventures filled with excitement and adrenaline. It promised me a perfect opportunity to clear my mind from the hectic college schedule and a scenic getaway. And I kid you not, my first trek did not disappoint.
The Trekking Club orchestrated an unforgettable journey to Tada Waterfalls in the heart of Andhra Pradesh's untamed wilderness.
We started off with the necessary formalities, inside the campus, 6:00 AM onwards. However gratuitous these procedures might seem, the first lesson of the trekking experience was taught here. They were paying attention to detail with meticulous care and being prepared beforehand.
We commenced our bus drive by 7:00 AM and of course like the bus needed fuel, its passengers did too, And so we found ourselves at an A2B restaurant by 8:30 AM. Now, that's the thing I like about Chennai, you can always go right with idly and dosa here. It is an immaculate choice when you want something tasty, healthy, and energizing. Having devoured it we hit back the road by 9:30 AM.
As we arrived at our destination around noon, our faculty coordinator, with their customary attention to detail, began the headcount, ensuring that we were all accounted for and ready for our adventure. They provided us with valuable insights and essential trekking instructions, setting the tone for the exciting journey ahead.
As we prepared to start our trek, we formed three groups, each led by a knowledgeable faculty coordinator. One group took the lead, another settled comfortably in the middle, and the third group kept a watchful eye from the rear, ensuring that no one was left behind.
The journey to the waterfall was a sensory delight. The distant gurgling and gushing sounds of the falls beckoned to us, creating a soothing and reassuring backdrop to our adventure. As we approached closer, the sound grew into a captivating murmur, the melody of nature's cascading water, heightening our anticipation.
Despite the physical exertion of the trek, we couldn't help but be enchanted by the natural beauty that enveloped us. Towering trees, lush greenery, and the occasional glimpse of wildlife provided a spectacle that left us in awe at every turn. The exhaustion from the journey seemed to fade into insignificance in the face of such awe-inspiring surroundings.
Finally, after what felt like an eternity, we reached our destination - Tada Waterfall. The clock showed that it was nearly 3:30 p.m., and we gratefully sat down to rest our tired feet. The cool, clear water of the falls beckoned to us, and as we dipped our feet in, it was like a refreshing oasis in the midst of our exhaustion.
Yes, I was undeniably tired, but the sense of accomplishment that washed over me was incredibly gratifying. The shared experience of conquering this trek with my club members made it all the more memorable.
By 5:30, all of us had returned safely back and with extreme satisfaction and dazzling smiles, we embarked our journey back.
It was almost 12 hours since we started, 12 hours made such a big difference, a good one. We had adrenaline rushing all over our body and our faces happy. To capture the smiles, we moved on to our delightful photo session, having memories to cherish for a lifetime. By 6:00 pm we boarded our bus for our return journey. Our minds entrapped with hopeful thoughts. Despite the tiring trek, the spirit of joy persisted and we enjoyed this journey to the fullest.
Close to 8 pm, we reached the same restaurant for dinner we had breakfast in. After an enjoyable feast, we continued our journey back, reminiscing the memories of this heavenly adventure.
Finally around 9:30 pm, we reached back to the place where it all started. As the saying goes, " All beautiful things must come to an end", ours did too. But it made us rethink our life to some level, maybe we focus on the external factors a bit more rather than working for these heartfelt things that bring us joy.
So trekking was about expectations at last and we exceeded ours. This Tada-trek made us learn teamwork, management and planning it was full of lessons at every step. It was our break, a healthy, innovative and a much needed break!
